(1) Whats up with people only wanting female puppies? (2) How can I provide references to prospective customers?
This may be the question of the year. This year I have produced 10 female puppies and 15 male puppies. Not one of them was sold for breeding. They were all sent out with limited AKC papers. If I had 3x as many females I could have placed them in record time, but nature dosn't work that way. - Folks if you are going to alter the puppy it dosn't really matter what the sex is. Check this out with your local vet. or better yet go to the AKC web site and read about it. AKC is the real expert and guardian of the breeds. They would make more money if all dogs were bred and registered. A properly altered puppy will grow into the best family pet. They will also be the most beautiful animal. There will not be a difference in their behaviors. They will stay at home better and be less aggressive (if that's even possible for a Golden Retriever). People are looking over the best puppies just because they are under the false impression that one sex is better than the other. Its just not true.

References--- In the last couple of weeks 2 different people have asked me for a reference. I receive notes from people telling me about their new puppy and thanking me for their new puppy but I have never shared those notes with anyone other than my family. Would it be ok for me to use these thank you notes as a reference for future customers ? I don't blame anyone for asking for the reference since they don't know me from adam. I know when I go out into the world to find a new dog for my kennel I check out both the breeder and the bloodline. I don't want someone trying to take advanage of me or bring a poor bloodline into my kennel. In this day and age of the internet we are always having to trust someone that we don't know. So maybe I do need to be able to provide prospective buyers with a reference. But how do I do that without invaiding my past customers privacy? I'm open to suggestions, help me out here..........
